Daniel Bernard named Barron’s senior vice president

Daniel Bernard, who was most recently Gannett’s GCI, +1.51% chief product officer and senior vice president, will be Barron’s senior vice president, Dow Jones Media Group announced Wednesday.
Bernard is the second executive hire at Barron’s in recent weeks. In late July, the publication named Katherine Bell, an editor at Harvard Business Review, to be its next editor in chief.
Before joining Gannett, Bernard was a digital leader at Time, Fortune and Money.
His hiring at Barron’s marks a return to News Corp NWS, -0.32% where he was chief product officer at The Wall Street Journal Digital Network and general manager of The Wall Street Journal Online. He has also worked at Reuters and MarketWatch.
MarketWatch, like Barron’s, is part of Dow Jones Media Group, which along with The Wall Street Journal is owned by News Corp.
Bernard will start on Sept. 29, according to an internal memo from Dow Jones Media Group Publisher Almar Latour.
